In Search of the Red Panda
Journey to the cloud forest of the Himalaya for a rare opportunity to photograph one of the world’s most elusive…and adorable mammals, the endangered Red Panda. With its rust-hued coat, ringed tail, and shy temperament, photographing this remarkable animal in the wild is both a challenge and a privilege.

Wild Terrain & Creatures
Our base is the remote village of Jaubari, located near the India-Nepal border near Singalila National Park. This high-altitude habitat—ranging from 6,800 to nearly 12,000 feet—features dense forests, bamboo thickets, and open ridgelines rich in biodiversity. If we are lucky, in addition to Red Pandas, we may also encounter Himalayan Black Bears, Clouded Leopards, Yellow-throated Martins, Leopard Cats, and some of the over 300 bird species that call this sanctuary home.

Beyond the Beaten Path
Our expert trackers begin very early each morning scouting for signs of movement. Once a panda is located, we'll be guided to the site for a respectful and well-positioned photographic opportunity.

Accommodations in this remote region are modest, but reflect the warmth of the local culture. The amenities are basic, but all logistics—including meals, porters, transportation, and internal flights—are fully arranged.

This is a physically demanding trip involving daily hikes in steep, high-altitude conditions, but the reward for those who accept the challenge is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to photograph rare Himalayan wildlife in a breathtaking natural setting.
